lol bleedgreenn they are just stressed out.. the fish in the link are the same ones sold to him by joey.. joey would never do him dirty like that.. if i didnt know where he got them from i might have said they looked like monos myself but its hard to i.d. baby cichla that size and with stress marks.. once they settle in you will see more orino characteristics .. what high city was try to say was he loves all his cichla the same no matter what they are. a peacock is a peacock to him, no sp. needed ;) thats true love right there

Yeah, your right, the pic of the group together are orino's, but dude looking at that shot you took, thats not the same fish. Take a few more with the flash off. If I'm wrong then I apologize, maybe the flash took the rings out around the spots.

Who are you on the othersite? or you say you know RED1 so I'll just ask him who you are....I'm just curious.

The group pictured (http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=162039) are the ones I picked up as Orinos ( based on what I believe Orinos should look like, showed the charateristics.)... Here's the thing, after looking at High City's pictures I would say that they are not the same fish. But I can't because the ones remaining are starting to look like those? My friend RED1 is actually growing one out for me and he sent me a picture.

Attached is the picture and it's the one in the center. I know BENJAMIN picked a few up also so hopefully he can post an update as to what his looks like now.

Actually, I know a few So.Cal locals who picked some up so I will ask them to post an update.

Thanks everybody. I can't wait until they start showing there gold spots.

Not sure if your pictures are not capturing the gold rosettes around the spots but can you see them in person? or are they exactly as you took the pictures?

These babies are just very bizarre...Just curious as to how they will turn out when they get bigger. If they don't turn out to be Orino's..don't worry, I'll hook you up with something better... ;) .....C.R.E.A.M

Was good R1? I am not worried about it all. They aren't showing rosettes but I don't think they were doing well at all I lost one last night and I am pissed. This was my first Cichla loss so I am bummed big time. I know it was ich because I came home to see white spots and immediately stepped in to action with the ich guard and the Epsiom salt. Well long story short saved 2 and lost 1. I am still under the weather and feeling worse so I won't take it too hard but man it's sucks just to loose one.

:clapvery nice orinos bro...

The name was jim29nj, jimmie29nj, something like that. I know red1 had two mono's years ago in a 125 that had babies, not sure if he still has them as I haven't spoken to him in years. I just re-registered on this site as well, because I could not remember the login, it's been awhile since I posted. The other site is ***********. I could've sworn the website maybe this one had a different name and was renamed. City sorry to hear about the lose. My son just lost two himself today, no clue params are perfect, think the feeder guppies have something going on with them, it seems like when these guys get them in their bellies, a few hours later there swimming out of control, then I find them stuck to the filter return. I'm laying off of the feeders and going to the bloodworms unless they refuse them. Best of luck.

nice monos ... from all the orinos i have raised the black line never goes all the way through the tail.. also the spots are troo blotchy.. im not gonna argue with anyone just giving a heads up..
