Orinos? Don't think so...

Nile perch?????? You have it written down in as 4" one coming soon! Have you an indoor pool then? I know a place near London that had one a few days ago.

Oh, I thought you thought the bass were perch LOL! I'm getting it from one of the mods on piranha.co.uk. Where did you see one? No I don't have a pool/pond, they don't tend to get much bigger than 25" in aquaria from what I have seen on MFK, though I'm planning a 7x4x3 plywood tank once my cichla and nile outgrow my 180g.

Any updated pics of these Monos matey

I'm gunna wait till they get to 4" so we can give them a 100% positive id.

Dilly woods waterland near Rochester £149 about 8 inches. They do get a lot bigger than just two foot in aquaria, haven't you seen any fishing programmes of them being caught in the wild??

Yeah, they get huge in the wild. But in aquaria, they grow slow and stay smaller.

I love the thought of something odd like this with cichla - i really like Kendragons Snook with his Bahia's

I think you need to do a little more research have a look at seriously fish, they might stay smaller in Aquria but they still get dam huge .

Seriously fish isn't my go to site for information, this is what they say about barramundi and niles:

"A truly humongous tank (or pond) would be required by an adult specimen. Something in the region of 20′ x 6′ x 10′ should be considered a bare minimum. A tank of this size would hold over 30,000 litres of water!"

Neoprodidgy has kept two barras in a 600g for quite a while now.

I think there is a nile in there two, but I'm not 100% on that.

I agree - that site is hugely inaccurate in many of their statements.

Sure Nile Perch are large fish, they are tall, deep and get to monstrous sizes BUT not to the degree you believe, they are VERY slow at growing and i agree that 2' is about the top end, 30" would be a spectacular specimen - Rivermonsters went in search of them a while back and struggled to find that huge specimen in the wild - i think that shows how difficult it is for them to get that size.

If he ever did outgrow his tank i'd gladly rehome him in my tank anyway which would house him for life.

Personally - i don't think they are far from Pulcher in size.
