Ornate and friend(s)

And that’s the biggest reason I’m so upset with myself- I know that already but had it my mind it could work. There are a bunch of loaches that hang out with mosey. So far no casualties, the occasional nip here and there but they literally lay on top of him.

I think I read somewhere that silvery sheened fish seem to active a polys predatory response for some reason. I wonder if that is part of it, mixed with fear pheromones (dinner bells). I’m concerned now that he has had a taste of live food he will be more aggressive toward more of the other fish, I hear bass taste good so I guess it’s not his fault, he’s just doing what he knows to do.

I pulled the remaining bass out of that side of the tank until I figure out what to do.
 
I stayed up really late the last few nights just so I could watch what is happening at night. So I am really bummed to announce I have found out that mosey is the culprit who not only ate my bass, but now he is going on a rampage. He’s punking off my achara, ripped up his pectoral area(watched this happen), taking bites at the loaches(slightly comical to see the teeth marks all over random loaches), and it seems as if all the fish in the tank are scared. I think at this point he is now the boss of the tank, but if he keeps chewing every one else up I may not be able to keep him.

I am wondering should I pull him out ASAP before there is any casualties or maybe it’s just him showing dominance and it will go away? Any thoughts from the OG’s here would be appreciated.

I got rid of my teugs for about the same reason. They just started being jerks to everyone one day. They killed and ate a rope and a few others. Its unfortunate but if you want to keep other fish you may have to rehome him.

I keep thinking about your story as I’m seeing this play out.
 
Where you at Matteus Matteus ? I could take mosey if you do have to re home him well here I go assuming that you don’t have another tank for him :duh:

I’m in Canada eh! I don’t have another tank he can go in that is big enough for him. But I have 3-4 options of people to sell or trade him to. Ugh I hate this

Just be happy you caught it when you did. Thinking back on my tank it had been....stressed for a bit but I didnt really catch on till they killed the rope.
And unfortunately ornates are that way sometimes. Ive heard more about them having bad attitudes then any other poly.
