Hello MFK looking for a little advise.

59.99 + 35$ shipping for ornate birchir (3-4") (any other species of birchir recomended as these get quite large)

or

50.00 Florida Gar + 54$ shipping (7")

Looking for which fish will interact but not try and eat me while i clean my tank. Also can birchirs be kept with large SA cichlids if same size?

New to polys (Noob)... can they be hand fed?

I know gars cant be hand fed and that they shouldnt be kept with SA cichlids. So i am leaning toward the birchir but man he gets big.
Anyone know off any gar / cichlid combo working out?

Thanks again
-Mike

geez they are both so expensive. You'll need a 150 gallon tank for either fish at least. Ornates are good fish to hand feed but so are the gars.

in this thread u say u have a 125 gallon with cichilds.. If u want a gar or bichir u need a bigger tank... ornate birchir get way too big for a 125 gallon...

I think 1 ornate bichir would need 70-120 gallons. So you could not put one in your current aquarium.
