Ornate Birchir or Florida gar?

neither am I im just kinda confused now. each has different sizes it grows to. Long nosed being the largest. I am nowhere near an expert on gars. Thats why I came to mfk for answers. Any help from any of you gar experts out there?
I'd go with the ornate if I where. But keep in mind you wont see him very often till 12". Also you will have to feed at night so the other cichlids won't eat his food. Ornates are slow, non aggressive eaters. Also provide the ornate it's own hiding space Becuase if it has to share it will mess up anything its with. I've had mine tear up catfish and Plecos that hid in the same cave. If you have trouble feeding him at first, try giving him earth worms. They love them. I feed mine earth worms, frozen foods, market shrimp and other various meats. Also try to get him eating pellets.

If you were trying to bash me. Then my point has been made. 24"ers+ do exist but ther'ye uncommon. The tend to average around 18-20 inches. Like senegals max size is 18" but they average out at 10-12 inches. Even a 24"er would be fine in a 125 depending if your filtration is great and your tank mates are compatible.
