Ornate overly aggressive?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just to add another experience: a neighbor of mine had a six inch ornate that ate a baby RTC that was nearly as big as he was-- he's 100% certain because those were the only two fish in the tank. These guys can be nasty.

my 11" ornate forced me to move all but a 9" Striped raphel catfish from his tank.......... i got a school of 12 4" Giant Danios............ gone the next day my ornate ate all so i thought maybe they where to small so i wait 2 weeks and put 3 7" tinfoil barbs in my tank all was good till the next morning i turned on the lights and they where all shredded and the ornate was really fat again so i thoght something aggressive will work................... I put a 11" jag in there and it worked good for a week nothing but a few scales on the jag missing but then the ornate again killed the jag and was all fat........ so now he is wit his room the catfish and no more fish will die from him........ the fish i had to move was a 9" wild Oscar a 12" delhezi bichir a 12" seny bichir and a 8" retro bichir........... ornates can get mean and will eat the fish they kill.........

Seems sort of like a blessing in disguise that he died so soon.

Sucks majorly that such a beautiful fish died, but how much will live because he died?

i have both silver aro and ornate. i think ur bgk death wasn't their fault. both are friendly fish if and only if they are well feed
