Oscar beat up

Put the filter back on (!), bump the temperature up a few degrees, and add "freshwater" salt as others have said.

Then you may need to look at your stocking in that tank... if the other fish have decided to target the oscar then they're not likely to stop (especially if you're talking about a texas and a devil). Oscar may need to be removed entirely. Of course then the texas and devil may try to kill each other, this is the "catch 22" of keeping multiple cichlids. Sometimes it works, often it does not.

You'll have to get rid of some fish, the red devil will eventually kill everyone in a 75, the Texas could possibly stay with the Oscar but it still might not work and you'd need a canister filter for that bioload...

A tex will claim a 75g for himself at 6+". IMO a 75 is a grow out for young new world cichlids.

Lol I love when people tell others what they need to do especially when he didn't even give the sizes of the fish... Like saying the rd will kill evrerything in a 75 or a 6+ in tex will need a 75 gallon. Not saying what was said isn't true but maybe they paired up and are trying to make room? Obviously this guy could use some help with his situation but its better to say the rd and the tex will get real aggressive as they get older and they might need different living arrangements. Also I totally agree with Biguebs. With that being said... I agree with the others to raise your temp, do water changes, and add aquarium salt which should be sold in your lfs. Good luck man

Are you saying a red devil won't kill everything in a 75 ? Or that a Texas won't dominate an Oscar in a 75 ? Cause then you'd just be setting him up to fail, no matter the fishes size that stock can't work in a 75, it just cant, 100/100 times it will end in cichlids fighting to the death. That's 3 fish that all reach a minimum 12" regardless of tank size so I am gonna tell him what he needs to do so he doesn't have a blood bath, he must pick one fish to keep in the 75 because the tank isn't big enough for any combo of the 3..... Don't you just love when someone tries to derail a thread

Lol you don't read very well but that's your issue. I never said what you or the other guy said wasn't true(for the 2nd time). Not all rd's or tex cichlids claim a whole tank. I've kept all 3 together and I'm sure many other people have to... so it depends on the setup and the fish. If the devil is dominant and the other fish are passive it CAN work. Yes I agree it isn't something to advise one to do simply because of their aggression. So yeah I'm saying they are his fish that he paid for and I'm sure he watches them daily and will be able to tell when or if its time to re home his fish. Btw he asked about healing his oscar... Not the info you threw out there. He now knows what he needs to do as far as healing the oscar so no further discussion on the housing of his tank is needed. Again good luck with healing your oscar Winsallday.
