I have had my cichlid for about a little under a year now and just a few weeks ago he stopped eating we ran out of cichlid gold and couldn't find any more In the stores nearby so we bought a different food brand until we could buy some more hikari cichlid gold food from the internet however ever since we bought that new food he won't eat at all not even the cichlid gold all the other fish eat perfectly fine he seems to be the only one that doesn't eat it's been about 2-3 weeks and it's beginning to worry me any help?

Your Oscar is almost a year old, and you have other fish? I must ask what size is the tank, what are the other fish and how often and how much water do you change on a regular basis? You may have a water quality issue, or he may just have a pout on not getting his regular feed. 2-3 weeks is a bit long for pouting though.

Well, your tank is not really big enough for even the Oscar alone, and your water changes are severely insufficient. I would suggest daily water changes and either a tank 4x what you have or reduce stock.

You can temp your Oscar with a little freeze dry krill after determining if their are not any water issues.

I would do 50% water change every day for a few days and see if it brings any results.

As for long term tanks, a 5 foot tank(100 gallon) would work nicely.

Even when you address this issue you need to look at the stocking level of your tank... that some big fish in a little tank. Which will probably lead to other health issues.

Does he have long stingy clear poop
