Oscar Fish Experiences

I don't have any personal experiences with Oscars because I have yet to own a tank big enough to house one properly, however the $$ is almost saved up for the massive tank and after everything I've read on this website an O will probably be the first inhabitant! I can't wait!

my albino is almost 2 yrs old now and filled out nicely as he got older. about 13 inches in length and an absolute baby.. bull dog face and always hungry.. his name is piggy....he loved his tank mate a tinfoil barb who he grew up with with. barb died and piggy will not tolerate any other tank mate now.. my pacu and large mouth bass share a tank together and piggy has his own tank.

from my experience, they are very personable, specially at feeding, they seem like they are always hungry ...

always hungry ... i feed mine alot as they always seem hungry ... i am thinking that it is overfeeding and i very unhealthy ??

It is normal when they are growing, just increase water changes to remove the extra waste.
They do slow down eventually.

i heard that if the oscar was in the tank quite awhile before other fish it would be all territorial and aggressive but if the oscar was in last it should not have the same problem ... that's what i heard might not be reliable
