what planet are you from?

Hes from planet Star Wars:ROFL: 75% change is a good number for such as small tank. 25% is just plane stupid.

My oscar was getting spooked at night and running into stuff. After I removed the stuff he calmed down.

Doing 75% a week IS overkill unless you have serious issues with Ammonia/nitrites. 25-50% is usually perfect.
sry to disagree ( normally i dont ) but gotta agree with bigO. ( not the what planet your from part ) but with 75% w/c. its actually a good idea since its a 55 gallon and hes already overstocked with prolly a weak filter..

100% (at once) is what I would say is overkill because you are killing your biofilter. 75% is what he should be doing ,which he is.

lol its rare that i dont hear a splash with my oscars! at night they normally just bump into the tank wall or get into a conflix with there tankmates. they useally win though LOL.

anyways to the OP. i got TWO oscars in my 112.. and i cant seee myself with more. ( want to get more but in reality i cant cause i dont have a spare tank for the oddball ) so atleast TRY to get a 75 MIN for ONE oscar.

um forgot i read, TWO YEARS in a 55? how big is the O?? i bet its under a foot. if so its majorly stunted....

Not if hes doing regular water changes.

I'm just saying in general. In his situation I agree 75% is best because he probably gets problems with his ammonia/nitrites.
