Oscar half eaten but still alive.....some advice?

And we give them med, salt and a lot of tlc plus the best environment for them.
But isn't the priority of everyone here to help him with his fish ? It's his choice to put it down or not so if he decides to try cure it then we should help him?

pphh your silly thats not what this site does..it puts people down..and screams at them for making there own choices ^_^

OP good luck with him i would love to see a video!!
here is my poor cripple..man i wish i listened to every one who said to put her down ..she is suffering so much now..with being faster than her male..beating the curd out of him and swimming just fine..such a tragedy..
really wish I had listened ..

not...my fish is healthy and happy and lots of people said she would never live a normal happy life and would always struggle...they were wrong..just saying.

Your convicts tail cut nearly as far back as the oscars tail was bitten off.

Shes looking good, haven't seen an update on her in awhile.
 
Wiithout being there and watching the fish, none of us can really give a true opinion. It's your fish, you tell us, is he okay?

If he is eating I would think he probably is not suffering. Fish go off food when they are sick or badly injured. Would any of us grab a cheeseburger if we were suffering so badly. "I know I've lost half my body but can we stop by fuddruckers please"? If he losses all interest in eating (especially an oscar) then you may want to think about putting him down.

I agree. Fish don't eat when they are real stressed. I think it'll live. No doubt unless the cut is infected..
