Oscar help... possible tumor, lump? Don't know.. help!

Sorry to hear about your fish.

Sometimes no matter what one does it's still not enough to save the fish. With cases such as this one it's almost impossible to know exactly what's going on inside the fish, or exactly what the best course of action should be. I still think that it was a tumor, in which case the end result was going to come to this no matter what you did.

You gave it a great effort, more than most people would, sorry that it didn't work out.
 
Did you autopsy it? I see the knife in the photo...would be pretty easy to confirm or deny a tumor if you just cut it open.

I did not, the knife was just used as a reference as I did not have a ruler handy.

Im going to agree with RD and say it may have more than likely been a tumor, which may in fact have caused a severe internal blocakge. I looked back to pictures from June and noticed he had a slight lump then as well, but NO lump present in March/April, so whatever this was, it moved fast.
