Oscar I.D.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
To me your Oscar resembles a fish currently for sale by fellow MFK member BigUmbeeFan. He said his is a wild Brasil Oscar. Here's the link: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/f...ce-central-NJ-meet-up-pick-up&highlight=oscar Maybe you can contact him/her for more info.

Yes they really look a like. And if you google it, wild Brazilian oscar you can see that variation with the same color as mine I'm not sure still because I'm not an expert on chiclids or Oscar's I will try to contact BigUmbeeFan and lets see what he say about :D thanks !!

They can look similar, yes. The patterns on wild Oscars can vary dramatically.

Crazy how they change no? I was looking for some fish food a year or so ago and saw yellow oscar it was not albino or gold but a nice yellow. i bought him on the spot hoping he was some type of fluke and would stay that color. 14" later he is just a normal tiger, but cool none the less. I should have guessed he would be a monster since at 1" he killed two fish that was in his grow out tank,, and now claims the whole display tank as his.
