technically your not speaking your mind. your admitting to a crime. it doesnt matter it you "created a rock wall" or whatever you are still breaking a law and personally i feel what you did to "train" your oscar was cruel and horrible. you can keep responding as you wish but they are just going to delete all these stupid posts that have nothing to do with the original subject. but hopefully they keep your first ones up up so that way, the feds that regularly scan this site can see them and track you down. its not just where the fish is from that determines where it can live outdoors. the main reason is that aquarium kept fish can not be released not only because they can destroy the ecosystem that keeps our natives alive but also because they can spread aquarium diseases to the natives like ick or velvet and many others. these fish have no immunity to them because they have never been introduced to the wild. there are several other great reasons as to why what you did was really stupid but im bored with this.
as to the op. heat it or think of a different option. its cruel to keep them in those temps. as a human you wont die if its 15 degrees out but you also have the opportunity to dress warm. it still doesnt make you comfortable. so keeping them in water temps close enough to kill them would be like you being in below zero weather with no clothes on.

What you're doing is:

- unfair to the fish
- stupid
You need to educate yourself on non-native fish, my friend. Many Central and South American cichlids have established populations in southern Florida. Those that are able to survive in cooler climates do so because the water source is heated in one way or another. If you'd like me to send you some information, I have plenty. I live and work in Florida in the fish industry and know people who specialize in non-native species.
At any rate, I hope at some point you'll gain some sense, because right now I feel really sorry for any fish that's ever in your possession.

Sounds like nature. Big fish eat little fish. Also sounds like population control because I cannot house 500 fish and it would be cruel for me to jam them all into a 40 gallon tank. You are an idiot. I dont agree with the oscar moving But i guess i see your point i mean i would never do that unless i had an indoor pond which later in life i will. But still you shouldnt put an oscar in a pond that gets cold, If anything the time and problems you faced you should have just bought another tank that was big enough for all fish and then be done with it. I know you were speaking your mind but i dont believe you should have done a thing like that. Its not right and secondly, All the laws that are placed now for fishing or fish keeping are because of people who release non-related species of fish into an area they would have never been Which causes problems for the rest of us. IMO, i think That the people who have gotten caught putting fish into a place or area that they shouldn't be screws the rest of us. And it sucks. And do what you want but i dont think your oscar has much of a future in it because it probably wont live long in a cold place. And that will show bad quality of fish keeping. And i think you should change it. And to answer the question like everyone else has No you CANT KEEP AN OSCAR IN A POND WITH OUT THE RIGHT HEATING AND FILTRATION.
