ime, you don't really need salt to treat Ich.

Just raising the temp to 89 F for 14 days will get rid of most strains.

if its a red lumpy pimple i think its internal worms, some of my dempseys had it a while back, i used 'waterlifes' sterozin claered it up in a few days... get a pic up.

its been 5 days since my treatment my temperature is at 86 and ive added salt like i was suppose to but still no luck=/ ich still attack my tiger oscar and now my blood parrot as a white spot on his head

after my first week of treatment do i replace salt with the amount of water i take out or do i put in the same amount for my whole 125 gal?

Just the amount you take out, i had trouole with ich lost a few fish too :-( i know meds are harsh but i wont be using the heat and salt treatment again. If the ich is speading i would just use meds as it seems that the salt heat treatment us not working for you either.

Do not use iodized salt. if it does not stop quick cure and the ApI ick stuff work good. i have never had a fish die from ick. i have only had it in my aquariums twice. i would say you should only raise it up to 86 deegrees. maybe a little higher part of the time. i would not put it up to 90 degrees for 2 week though.

i´ve never had ich on any fish, but I´ve had whitespot before, there are tonnes of medicines you can get over the counter, I used this one called Myaxazin which dyes the water green. I´ve found it gets rid of most external problems with fish.
