i have a albino and regular tiger oscar together and they are acting weird. when its dark in the room i can see them up and swimming and feeding but as soon as i kick the lights on they go down and chill on the bottom together. not very active and when i say lights i dont mean tank lights, just the room lights alone.

any idea on what to do or what may be causing this. i took them to a friends place and in her tank they were fine. but i dont know why. same water conditions and environment. im confused.:confused::confused:

Hmm... what are the tank conditions?? And how long have you had them? They're probably sulking (which is a common thing). My oscars do that too on occasion but usually it's b/c the water temp is low.

could be the lights are too bright, oscars dont like lights that are too bright

Tank size and other occupants?

if you have been moving them around they are probably just confused, oscars do not like change, they will probably be ok in a couple weeks

water temp is about 78 and they have been in there for about 3 weeks and the light is just a room light.

tank size is 55 gallon and the only other fish is a lionfish. the oscars are only about 3 inches long.
