doesent rock salt for house units have a toxic amount of metals in it?

no, where are you coming up with this stuff?

Rocksalt = NaCl = Halite.

what metals are you talking about?

I use Halite for my "salt dips" or when I add salt to a hospital tank.

Quit being a hero Peacock and stop thinking your better then everyone else. Just part with your input, and recommending a 100% water change is ridiculous.

oh? How is it rediculous?

Discus breeders do 100% every day on their grow out tanks.

tell me, is that rediculous?

I must agree Peacock fella i'm sure you have embarraced the guy enough.

You have proberbley made him feel quit inadiquet by now and no doubt he's possibly feeling a tad humiliated so i think nows the time to stop.

If you wanted to say all this to him why not PM him instead of showing him up in front of everyone !

Put the Boot on the other foot ! How would you feel?

Next time may i suggest you PM him and correct him !

people "learn" better when humiliation is involved. it reinforces their "want" to learn the correct answer.

and, why hide good information? everyone should benifit.

Peacock,

I dont think everyones is capable of performing a SAFE 100% water change.

Anyways humiliation is never morally correct, why should someone be put down infront of others because of a mistake?

Anyways dude im not here to get into an arguement with you, i know you love to argue but this is a community site so lets keep it that way and make everyone feel welcomed, instead of making them scared to speak.

Maybe if you could provide step by step instructions on performing a 100% water change would be a much better suggestion to someone with less experience then just saying do this do that.

Hasi i agree !

There are ways and means of getting your point across ! and that for me was not the way.

You could have just said

" look mate this is the correct way to do it "

Instead of makeing the guy look a total fool !

Like i said befor PUT THE BOOT ON THE OTHER FOOT !.....how would you have felt ?

Lets call it a draw there ok ! befor it get's out of hand and people get warnings ect of the admin guys ! think... is it worth it ?
