Oscar tank.

All Oscars are awesome imo. I wish I had the space, time, and money to take all the Oscars I see on Craigslist and other sites in. I will definitely have at least 1 wild type.

woah that's quite the oscar tank. it may not be necessary nor recommended to have a 12 foot long tank filling the entire wall. maybe a 10 foot long one with a foot at each end so that you can go in and do maintenance on the 3 foot deep sides, including algae scrubbing, filter hoses etc. still plenty big enough to have like 8 different oscars. not to mention moving a 12 foot tank would be a logistical nightmare.

i'm planning an identical 10x3x2 along my 12 foot wall but it will be housing a couple bigger showpiece fish - arowanas, etc. my current 6x2x2 is my oscar/SA cichlid tank.
Only one side would be against a wall. The other side will be next to an open walkway to the next room. It's hard to explain. I'll definitely take your idea into consideration. I have to really sit down and plan everything still, I wanted to post here and get some advice, ideas, and whatever else. I appreciate the reply.

The wild type oscars are awesome, in my opinion way prettier than the domestically bred types. I'm not sure of their availability, though, as I know they can't be exported from Brazil since they're considered a food fish
I'm going to order an Orinico O from Jeff Rapps. I'll probably make my way down to the Everglades and catch 1 or 2 since it's like a 4 hour drive, not too bad. I'll be browsing all over the internet to find different ones too.

Try and contact jeff rapps at tangledupincichlids.com

A couple of years ago he had astronauts orbicularis. I rehomed mine to another member Poseidon2.0 Poseidon2.0

Best looking O imo well worth waiting for him to get more

Will try and dig up some pics for you
