My fried is trying to ger rid of his 6 inch oscar and I am thinking about taking it from him But i would need a new tank so I am looking on craigslist hand here is my possible set up:

75 gallon tank- $85
48" light strip- $60
2 Aquaclear 500 Filters- $50
2 250 watt Heaters- $8

Total- $203

To me this sounds like a pretty decent deal but I don't have as much experience with this stuff as most of you guys wo what do you guys think about this? My other question is would an oscar be okay in this tank or not? Thanks alot guys.
 
should be good with that set up. are you planing on more tank mates?

You could do some when he is younger, when he's older, it's going to be harder.

Another oscar would be too much for a 75g
 
Yes, it would be ok (makes me happy to say that!)

Not a bad deal, is the $50 for two filters or is it $50 each. I wouldn't expect to pay more than $1/gal for a used tank, but I wouldn't let $10 stop me, either.
 
haha yeah it makes me happy to hear that haha. Im picking up the tank today and the rest probably tommorow or something. It is 50 dollars for both filters, they are 25 each. I will see how he does in the 75 and then i'll decide on some tank mates if any. Ill get some pictures of it up soon.

What do you guys think about an Oscar and a Dempsey in there? Too much?
