  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Apart from the tiny Datnioides Microlepis and Polypterus Ornatipinnis my LFS (best worldwide) had, I saw a battered Oscar, ~11", so
since yesterday I have 4 Oscars.

Here's my 200g tank:

I'm very :D I have 4 Oscars now.
Next step is more glass..

question : one of my red oscar died, there was no sign of disease.. it just lost it appetite and swim very slowly. Doesn't eat.
I read it could be swim bladder problem but i'm not too sure.

How many Os have you got in the tank?
what litre is the tank and what fillter are you using?
have you checked the ammonia level and is the tank well oxygenated.

Yeah keep the waterparameters OK, and you'll have a whole bunch of
17"ers.
;)

I red the whole thread, and I fel a bit in love with the longfinn albino I saw. I think its one of the most beautiful fishes I've ever seen.
Kinda mix Goldfish-Oscar. Love it.

Two years ago I had three young ones, the left one of them has grown and became my avatar:

I got a question for all oscar lovers!

So what is the true minimum tank size?

I say 1 for 75gallons

I say one needs at least 130g.
To have room for digging, sheltering on different places, open swimspace, and some plants.

Smaller then.. gives so much room for fluctuating waterparameters, and therefor an unsuitable environment for such a stunning species.
This can be used for any kind of waterdweller.

But I'm not judging anyone. I'm here for the :D
