oscars are beautiful I was ganna buy 2 of them today until I looked closely and discovered they all had the beginning stages of ich. =/ owell maybe next time
Believe it or not I found my two on craigslist with a complete 55G set-up for $100. It was lucky enough to be the first on at her doorstep with cash in hand. There was lady on CL about 2 weeks ago giving away 3 large ones, but I had nowhere where to put them so I had to pass on them............

Beautiful tank. I have 2 oscars in a 125 myself. 1 of them was a rescue, the other i have had since he was 1 inch long. He's now about 2.5 years old and he is a little over 13 inches. I feed Hichari gold pellets (with some krill and massivore pellets as a treat every now and then). Oscars are quite beautiful in my opinion and have lots of personality. I have never fed mine live food, which I think makes him less aggressive. I have been able to add much smaller fish to the tank (a small pleco and a 1.5 inch nicaraguan cichlid-both of which are now larger) and he has never had a problem with them (eating them).

AAAwwwww come on man stop teasing us with that beautiful beast in your avatar!!!!!!! MORE VEIL TAIL PICS!!!!! How many tiger O's can we see, we need some more WC and rare ones!!!!

How fast they grow depends on lots of factors. I have noticed growth in the last two months since I increase my water change schedule. Also the size of the tank has alot to do with it. I just bought a 75 gallon off craigs list that had a 3 year old red oscar that is only about 9". My three oscars in the 180 gallon tank are three also but are 12" on two of them and 13" on the other.

Oscars are more like a dog as they wag thier tail when they see me and all line up for feeding time. Here are my three largest. Pic are from last month. They have gotten a little bigger.

First one is JC and Sid. The second is Sid and Gus.

Did you mean on mine Danzig?

If so, no he doesn't bump anything but does have a crooked jaw.

He had a bout with HTH about 1-1/2 years ago. He was the only one to show any bad signs. I had river rock in the tank and got lazy with the water changes. Water looked clear but had a mess under the rock. I have replaced with sand and they are doing much better.
He is quite large, 13"

luckily he has beautiful eyes. ;)

Mine albino and my last rescue have both crooked jaws.
Not as bad as yours though, but I'm glad JC survived.

Steelshade, I realy like your avatar. And your Datshark is also great Danzig86.
