OSCARS FULL SIZE!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
This thread has reminded me exactly how awesome Oscars are. Even I forget sometimes how impressive this fish can be. All of these pictures are amazing, great fish everyone. (Funcoland your albino is a stunner by the way.) Shows what people with knowledge can provide for these guys. Oscars por vida!

Heres my Oscar, a two months from his 2nd birthday(or atleast when i bought him). He's around 11-12 inches.

I really dont understand why I see this much plastic in most tanks.
Vallisneria Giganthea is an easy plant, grows faster than any big fish
in a not overstocked tank can dig out.

And real plants are more resilient than plastic will ever be.

Aponogeton Crispus. Wedged in wood. Try it. Your fish will thrive.

Because people don't want the hassle of live plants even though some are easy to maintain............

Depend what you keep with your O's. My O's digging them up would be a nuisance but I can replant but my Silver Dollar shoal does a lot more damage to real plants. I'm lucky if they leave a stump!

75 would be comfy but 1 oscar could live in a 55. Thing is, most of them like a friend to hang with. On very large tanks you can get 1 fish per 40 gallons with proper filtration.

Also it will depend on how much extra is in the tank. Decorations and substrate.
