Wow Thanks I named him........"MONSTRO"!!!

Hehe, what a fitting name for such a beast of a cichlid...:headbang2

absolutely beautiful Oscar, great conditioning, you should be proud of that, How big is he?

I'll see if I can get my brother in law to help me get a picture of my O onto the internet. The only ones up are some from the day I brought him home. He looks dead.

I dont know the gallons but mine is about 4ft 180 litre tank and they are very happy and have been for 6-7 months or so
I hate to be "that guy", but that tank setup is not going to work long term. what you have is a 44 gallon tank, smaller that the recomended size for one adult oscar (55 gallons). I imagine you have a hard time keeping your nitrates under 40 ppm, even if your doing 2 huge water changes a week. Your oscars will eventually get sick, probably HITH, from poor water conditions. I feel like I should tell you now, cause when I first got my O I had him in sub parr conitions and he got HITH, and it got worse before it got better. It took months of almost daily water changes before I was able to get it under control. You might want to start thinking about upgrading to at least a 100 gallon tank, to avoid this problem.

You are probably right, but we test the water once a week and the water is fine, no probs.
