:shakehead YESTERDAY MY OSCAR DIED AND I AM REALLY PISSED NOW. THIS IS MY FORTH DEAD OSCAR THAT DIED. NOW HERE IS THE MYSTERY NONE OF MY OTHER FISH DIED EXSEPT ALL MY OSCARS AND ITS USALLY BECUASE ITS SKIN TURNS COLOR OR IT PEALS OFF CAN I GET UR OPINION ON MY SITUATION?

what size tank, what size tankmates. what size oscar, and how often do you do waterchanges and how much water do you change each time?
 
well this tank that i have is a 125 gallon tank and the oscar was about 3" long and lived pretty we scince i got him wen he just a fry so he lived pretty much and by water changes i make them like ever week and like a 75% water change and all my fish lived but all the oscars died
 
that might be your problem... To do a 75% water change is way to much, especially every week. Even a 50% water change is to much. Try more like a 25% water change. If you have a good biological filter of bacteria you shouldn't have to do so many changes. It is to much stress on the fish. Some fish are more resiliant then others, so that might be why only the oscars died. And depending on where you get your water, it may be to hard or to soft. Take a water sample and bring it to your local fish store and have them check it. Oscars like harder water, but tap water usually is softer depending where you are.

Your water changes are excellent, but you need to answer the other questions I put forth...
 
On average what are your water perims. like? Ammonia, pH, Nitrite, Nitrate, alll that stuff. Don't just say "the water is fine". Exact readings please. Do you have city water? If you do what kind of declorinator do you use? What other fish were with it and how many of each?
 
Do you have chlorine or chloramines in your tap water?

If your Oscars are the only ones dying.. Are they the only ones eating feeder fish?

Do you feed your Oscars something they shouldn't eat? (Pizza, HotDogs, Etc?)

What is your alkalinity reading? With a heavy bio-load your pH could be on a roller-coaster ride with no buffering capacity. Why that would kill the normally hardy oscars, and not the other fish, I don't know.

Are you keeping them with African Cichlids? l Africans like to shred the slower moving Oscars..

Another thing to think about is your nitrite level in the water. If the fish are "losing their skin" there is probably a nitrite level problem in your tank. i would take a sample of water to your pet shop and have them test it for everything. That should shed some light on your situation.
