fruit? is that safe? if so i'll have to try it they could probably use more vitamin c
 
Some people feed their fish bananas, apples, mangoes and watermelons. Can't see why they would not be safe although it is acidic ones such as oranges that are often avoided.
 
i had the same problem with my oscar. Now his back to shape. All i did was mixed his diet a bit. I switch my pellet to hikari carnivore. I also feed him shrimps, crickets, and worms. Hopefully yours turns OK.
 
In the wild theres soem fruits that fall from the trees and land where the oscars are and they eat it. Then once it passes through the oscar the seeds get planted. Im not sure what those fruits are that fall to them in the wild, but I wouldnt try anything acid-y.


Edit: I also heard if you give insects, Oscars especially like Beetles.
 
mos def! mine looove crayfish, it took me a while but after they were quarantined they were worth it.
