Yea, the Convicts would. What about Rainbow Cichlids? Great super fast fish that only get like 4" max and leave all other fish alone.

Get a couple syno. cats. They'll clean up after the hogs eat!

Bichirs (more properly known as polypterus) are not aggressive, they are predatory. They will eat any fish that is small enough to be eaten unless it is extremely aggressive and/or fast. Bichirs would be a great idea if they were full grow or close to full grown. Make sure they are already on pellets otherwise they will be impossible to change or close to it.

jack dempsys are good to mix with oscars and syndontis lace cats do well also

I was thinking getting one of those cats to help clear up with the earth eaters I'm still vey tempted with a birchir I know all the other fish will be ok just worried about the earth eaters getting a kicking.
I will have to have a look at the rainbows not sure if I have seen them.there is another cichlid I'm going to get but I just can't remember their name I think it starts with a p they are light grey with darker grey spots pattern
