I sadly wont have anything larger then the 55(most likely) till I can move out and get my own place with my girlfriend. Then I have permission to buy a 240+ =3
Agreed on the pushing it, but 75Gal are more readily available (where im from at least) and is what I have always heard as being rule of thumb. My pair of Os are housed in a 125gal and couldn't be happier. If it was me, for a full grown single O I would say 75Gal and for 2 full grown (with a few friends) a 125Gal.muffywrx;5027022; said:25gal for each additional O is WAY pushing it, should have at least 90g for two bare minimum, 125 preferred. Though with these guys stunted you could get away with a 90 easily.

So anyways back on track, the people get overwhelmed and need somewhere to pass off the full size oscars they no longer want or that they can no longer take care of them.ChilliPepper;5042416; said:I hope you can rehome these O's soon. They need at least a 75g for a single O and pref. at least a 125g for a pair really with no tank mates.

oops my bad. lolLowCel;5043354; said:Sorry, I just always get a kick out of it when people post that someone should rehome them after the person has already posted that they have already done so.![]()

Anyways on the topic of space for O's a 75g would be good enough for 1 full size or no?yogurt_21;5043096; said:for 2 o's I'd say a minimum of 8 sqft footprint. I think too many get wayyy too stuck on gallons and don't even realize that a 90 has zero extra swim space than a 75 gallon. That extra height may look pretty but it doesn't do your O's any favors.
so a 120 wide (8sqft) or standard 125g (9sqft) would be optimal for 2 O's. If you're planning on much more than that a 180g (12sqft) would be preferable.
