Our ferrets...

most ferrets that you can buy in the u.s. are already descented, spayed and neutered. i think you need a license to by fully equiped animals but not completely sure. i've read that unless you plan on breeding the ferrets that you should buy them or get them neuterd/spayed. they can have a very bad temperament otherwise. that is what i've researched and read. Don't quote me on that.

sounds right, marschall farms is one of the largest breeders, they do the descenting/fixing, there are indepent dealers that sell ferrets, do you get the ferret magazine Joel?

Even descented ferrets have a distinctive aroma, a sweet musky odor, I like it but many people don't. I owned one, Snippers, that a niece let out one winter morning because it was chasing her, I thought it had frozen but several months later I found out that some people a couple blocks away had it come in through there cat door and adopted it. They gave it a good home and I had gotten it free so no foul. The new owners were releived that I felt that way because it was really a part of their family by then.

Good ending to your story, so many people get them and don't realize what kind of care they need and well, it's usually a sad story...

My gf has two ferrets, a male and a female (Logan and Zizzy). I am not a big fan of them to be honest, a little to high strung for my taste. Zizzy is a *****, she bites or trys to bite everyone that is not my gf, she also poops in the wrong places and spends endless hours digging in the cage. I could easly destroy her, don't be suprised if tou see a video on here of a monster fish eating a ferret. The other one is ok, I like him but he still has that smell. I don't care what anyone says, one turd stinks up the house worse then any other kind of animal turd. I'll stick with my rabbit and cats, beyond them mammals are overrated.

I almost forgot, cute ferrets. There is no denying it, they are cute...just not my thing.
