I once got a 6" female Motaguense for $5.00 from a Petco who had gotten it as a trade in. They sold it to me as a Jack Dempsey.

You shoudnt pay any fish that is traded in at petco. I too fall for some of the petco employee that sells the trade-in fish. But actually all you have to do is ask the petco employee that you want to adopt the certain fish you like and its yours free!
My red tigers are on their 3rd spawn. My gf just got a digital camera and I plan on taking some picks in a week when the fry are swimming around with them.
Oh and their last batch was grown to about 2-3 inches and a pair formed in a grow out and had freakin babies. I didn't realize it untill it was too late. The fry got eaten as I was taking youngsters out so I could sell them to my lfs.

Oh, the male will outgrow the female BIG TIME so be careful.

I can't remember ever being excited about getting a new fish , I mean usually get really jacked up when I find something I don't see often but I've never been this excited before, I can't wait for some fry, mean lttle boogers.
Woke up this morning turned their light on to check them out and now there are eggs. We're really excited about this the only other fish we've had breed were our Jags and some pink convicts. We still have about 8 baby jags left over from their last batch.
