Our new Red Tiger Motags

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i had a pair of motaguenses they would try to jump out ever time when i feed them only when they had babies, my cuzin used to always mess wit my fish making him run in to the glass and stick stuff in the tank, then one day he put his finger in there to mess with the dad and he bit his finger and split it open, fish finally got him back oh nice mota

Just figured I would give an update on their eggs, so far we now have wrigglers I can't wait to see some babies , my wife and I are planning on moving our babyy jags to a different tank leaving an open tank for some motag babies :)

Beautiful fish! Do they have to be paired up to keep their colors? Do they require a species specific tank?

Nice grab!

The one I had was in a 150 with other large new world cichlids and it kept it's color the whole time. I would only be worried about a species specific tank if you plan to breed. Having said that, they are bruisers, and nothing messed with the one I had. Put one in a 75 or 90 with other fish and things may get a little violent.

Ritgh now they are both really small so the are in a 55 in our living room , during the spring or as soon as it gets warmer here, and we pick up our 240 :naughty: I'm planning on playing a little musical fish and they will end up in our 90.

hey with all do resect man...i hate red tigers...but that aint so bad...try to get some better pics to next time... :irked:

Those pics were taken right after I got them, they were a bit shy then so at the time that was the best I could do. I have posted some better pics with Moma and her babies.
