Our pool to pond conversion

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
That came out great. Seems most people with pools even in the south after awhile get tired of them.

In fact I don't know anyone with a pool in Miami who still uses it. Ponds are the way to go ;).

Do you bring your fish inside during winter or pool doesnt freeze solid ? I know PA winters are brutal.

At first we brought them inside-but after one year they became to big for our tank-used an air pump to keep the ice from freezing solid and this past winter bought a heater to keep a hole in the ice.
Have not lost a fish due to cold yet-we even have 2 fan tail goldfish in there that are big as baseballs.

Cool, we almost bought a house with a pool that the wife was ok to convert it into a pond

This was the house my wife grew up in and the pond-converted pool was once a spring house on the Riddle horse farm-famous horseowner 100 years ago-his horse is the one that raced Seabiscuit in the movie-
sorry for long drawn out response ;)

Very beautiful tiles on that pool, I sorely wish more ponds and aquariums had such.

It would be cool if someone had mosaics! :)

Looks great! Came a long way since the first pic. Is it 8ft deep?

BTW, that pond is screaming for a few gar!
