OUT OF ALL THE PARACHROMIS GENUS???

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i like how the jags have an almost eel type appearence , their body is long and thier definitly built for speed, i heard they prey on birds in the wild wen they land on the water

Jags actually do not swim very fast, at least the ones I have had. You want to see fast, watch a dovii in a large tank. They swim so fast you can barely follow them.

Trust me I have had many different types of parachromis, until you see a dovii you have not seen fast. I haven't seen a umbee in person yet, but since they are open water predaters I assume they are also extremely fast.
Yes, motoguense can be aggressive, but any parachromis or any cichlid for that matter can be aggressive. Depends on the personality of the fish, but a dovii is the least likely to work in a community setting but it can be done. At least for a period of time.

i was told that a full grown jag will grab a small bird when it lands on the water. i also read it somewere online, but obv birds eat jags too they eat any fish they can get thier claws on lol

Dovii all the way. At 4 inches the little guy in my avatar would stand his ground to my 12 inch Oscars. By the time he was 6in he had the Oscars on the run.

what do mean he was a wimp?lol, that's a beautiful jag

He would get around a divider and get his but whooped by my dovii and I would find him in the corner begging for his life. I know the divider could have been better but the dovii never went and picked a fight. But if you brought it to him.... Sux he was a stunner for sure.
