hmm id have to say black, even though the background is blue. blue will be too distracting i think. they also have clear PVC if you wanna do that...
 
i bet thats not easy to find and im sure my fish wouldnt like that much

so should i do an adapter to a larger pipe from the bulk head ? like go to a 2 in or 2.5 ?
 
not needed, it's overkill. youll just add more gurgling sound. just follow the instructions on the Durso website, if thats the one you choose to do
 
well i would go durso but they said you need a box to get the water level up to the rim. i think im goin to do a slotted cap with an air hole ontop. that should keep it pretty silent.
where does your water level hit on your durso ?
 
itll work w/o a box, but it wont be truly 'skimming' the surface. click the link in my sig for my 57g tank, you could see pics/video of it in action
 
but see i need my intake to be less than an inch from the rim so it wont show the water surface. you can get by bc its a rimless tank. i wish i could do rimless but my gar and jardini prob wouldnt stay in there long
