Anybody else???

Yesterday I went outside and played with the dogs. I ran back inside and luckily it still had 1" to go. I drain and fill at the same time, so the shower has to play catch up.

I did learn that you cant attach plastic to glass though. I siliconed a peice of plastic to the back of a 29gal (garbage pick up broke back peice). Filled it 50% for a few days, cool. Filled it 75% sat on the computer and about 15min later I hear CRRRKKK. I look over and BAM water starts flooding ALLLL over. The keyboard is 2 feet away, plugs 2 feet and the computer is 2 feet over and on the floor! I pushed the plastic back on while water was still pouring out. I wanted to yell for help but I would have been yelled at so I had to RREEAAACHHHH for my garbage can which took 5min while holding onto the tank to spare the computer. I looked like I just went swimming, water ALLLLL over the floor. No one knows this happened except me hehe. Tanks in the basement now in the corner of shame until I get glass whenever that is.

I did changes on 4 tanks yesterday. First the 55. Got the hose going and got n the Internet. looked back at the tank as the first few drops started to come over the edge. I though "pay attention dumba$$" next the 20 g same thing happened. How dumb can I be. Topped of the 65 SW same thing AGAIN. Finally the 180g. I got the hose going. Shortly after my wife yells " Dinner is ready" my mind goes into feeding mode. I arrive in the dining room where dinner is served. We're having a nice dinner when my daughter says "I hear water dripping in the basement" Thank god my fishroom is in the basement with concrete floors and a floor drain or I would spend a lot of time in the dog house...

Lol, Been there, done that... The computer can definitely cause disaster when doing water changes... If your tanks are in the same room behind or off to the side of you, take a big mirror and just lean it on something so you can see when your tank get's full instead of letting the dripping sound alert you....
Glad to hear the 180 was in the basement... How long did it overflow?

Fill them by buckets safer than hoses lol

I left the buckets behind a long time ago. Alot less back ache when your doing changes in multiple tank's.

My fish tanks are on the second floor. Just look up on the first floor, and you see water stains everywhere. Mostly from when I get sidetracked from filling the tank, and the hose slips and sprays water all over the floor!
