PPG had a friend that helped her cut teeth, she does not directly say it in this thread, but I remember a thread in which she said that the friend did not use medicine, I just cannot find it right now!

In this thread, I believe Emartin went without medicine, (If I remember correctly!) However, the puffer still died.

And PP never says that she did not use medicine in this thread...but because of the picture, I have to assume so (No offense PP) But, this is also a SAP.

These are the top ones that come to mind, and it is late so my memory is not 100%

Well, I do remember, I just cannot find

I won't get into the details of each post ...

when in doubt: MS-222

clove oil is carcinogenic, meaning it takes more and more with each dose and it remains in the muscle tissue. Eventually your puffer will not come out of the coma. MS-222 is used to sedate fish for hospitalization and transport (go figure).

Obviously the less tranq you can use the better... if you can go without, that is ideal. KEEP IN MIND that your puffer DOES NOT want its teeth trimmed and may fight you, the size and age of the puffer will determine if you need tranqs, the thickness of the teeth may mean you need tranqs, and finally your confidence level.

I'm not saying it can't be done. I've done it 9 times my self, but you do have other options.

I think the real problem with CO is the fact that it stops the puffer's respiration, eventually causing brain damage. I can't remember if I used it during my 1st attempt at trimming teeth (& lips!) but I think I did use it then too.
