rallysman said:all piranhas are over rated. Sure they can eat a rat thats in their tank, but my rats would eat a piranha in their cage. EFF P's!
i agree with everything you have to sayrumblesushi said:OVERRATED -
Pike cichlids
doviis
jags
piranhas
red devils and other cichlids that have big lumpy heads
African cichlids - small and boring. Good for feeders though
Wolf fish (hoplias) - just like a turd with teeth.
UNDERRATED -
Oscars- sure they are common, and there are better looking fish out there, but they are intelligent, funny and brave fish. They are a fun fish to keep.
Ctenopoma, spotted climbing perch.
Snakeheads - yes they are still rated highly, but underrated by many. They are the ultimate predator.
Comet goldfish - active, brightly coloured, cheap, voraciousAnd grow to a decent size. Pretty good fish all in all.
PIctus catfish - small but pretty and aggressive and hyperactive.
Freshwater barracudas - These are REALLY underrated. I prefer these to vampire tetras and ATFs, mine were a really pretty irridescent gold, big eyes, big teeth, active, and nailed anything that moved that was somewhat small enough to eat. Really cool fish. I'm talking about the Acestrorhynchus species.
Fish such as arowanas, bichirs and peacock bass are neither under or over rated. They deserve their popularity.
