Overrated / Underrated Fish ?

i think that oscars are underrated, many think otherwise probably becouse they are soooo common. about being overpriced. ive never seen a juvi o for more than $15 . how cheap can you get...
i wouldnt know what is underated, i do have a comet that is about 5 yrs old and everyone loves him. hes got a little personality. cant beat that for a 10 cent fish. :)
 
Fresh water "eels" like tiretrack and fire eels are ,IMO, underrated...theyre kind of dull at smaller sizes but at 15 inches and above they are very active, curious and have a great personality. Not to mention great patterns. They eat cut shrimps that would make an arowana proud.

Overrated :​
Piranha: Those with little or no fish experience automatically think Piranhas are the Killers of the sea.
Blood Parrots –
Convicts: There overrated as far as there aggressive nature. There only simi-aggressive when they breed. Underrated as feeder fish
Oscars: enough said.
Parrot Cichlids: my own dislike –
Jack Dempsey: Most LFS would describe this fish as the most beautiful aggressive fish in the market. Give me a brake.

Underrated ,​
The number one Underrated fish in my opinion would be the Umbee. Many people are referring to the umbee as the “fed” fish. But search for the umbee in this website and you will be lucky to find 10 treads referring to the umbees; nature/habits/19 in umbes pictures. When people start classifying a fish as “the craze -- here today gone tomorrow” they are Underrating the fish it self.

Overrated - Pirahana, some pikes, Oscars (pigs of the cichlid world IMO).

Underrated - Fancy Plecos, SHs.
