Overstocking rant

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I personnally liek japanese style tanks. have always liked and will stick to it in whatever discussion I happen to be involved.

The fact that a person who keeps fish spends time around a place such as MFK ( morons excepted, there will always be morons, allthough not many in here ) shoudl be proof enough that it is a person who keeps fish for the joy of keeping fish and of wanting to learn and/or share experiences in relation to fish keeping.

Flaming and criticism, therefore ( and flaming about tank sizes is a very good example ) only serves the purpose of irritating and shunning people away, and we risk loosing good people, that way..

let us face it, almost no one will change their ways because of flaming. if flaming gets too hot, you just turn around and ignore it. so this permanent critcism only sends people to greener pastures, imo...

it is an irritating trend, permeating the world nowadays, people always knowing better and feeling entitled to "teach " everybody around..

don't people get laid anymore??

You've been saying that a lot lately, I'm starting to wonder if you are getting any :D. Either that, or you believe that sex solves all personality problems.

Japstyle tanks are hit and miss with me, there is a certain point that I don't like them any more. I prefer, and would do one with Arowana but, due to sucky laws, I can only keep Jars and Leis which I have been warned against in a community tank. I still think its worth a try, I need a bigger tank first though.

yes, I have, haven't I?? I really do believe that a healthy sex life takes away/reduces the "constant criticism/i know it better" syndrome.

Peolpe are happier, as a matter of fact....

Now why am I so sad, this morning??

Well, I like the fact that people overstock their tanks and kill all the fish in it. It only means that I'll be buying those same used empty tanks for dirt cheap at garage sales. Keep those ammonia levels up peeps.

Have you seen these Japstyle tanks, sure some look grossly overstocked, but other look great. And they usually only run high with nitrates as the filter systems on them are massive and high tech. Look up Miguel's aro tank, hope you don't mind me using you as an example miguel its just your in the thread. His fish look great, that is the only way I would consider doing a Japstyle tank myself.
The ones who kill their fish and sell their tanks are noobs, it has nothing to do with stocking levels.

Thank You Nova!! Never had, in fact, a fish dying of bad water params....
( once 6 magnificent aro's died on me due to filter failure and the inexistence of a redundant system..live and learn )
here's some over stocking for you:) :)
