Overturn the python ban!

Sadly, that petition still needs at least 19,000+ for it to make the 25,000 signed by the 17th Feb...

Eitherway, hopefully it will do something, but highly doubt that with 5,000 sigs its going to do much...

3rd thread like this I was the second lol. Honestly I don't think it will do anything anymore. Calling and mailing(NOT email) will work a lot better if everyone who signed that petition made a call or sent a letter to there state representatives. If you've already signed the petitions and snt emails, the next step is calling and mailing letters, much more effective! I havent yet though lol

Calling and emailing wont work because your state representatives dont care about you or your problems. They care about their agenda and their money. Do what you want government but I wont let you take my rights. My reptiles will always be in my possession, whether legal or not. The government has lost all respect and its time for change.

I agree with a ban in florida where it has become a problem but not nationwide

I for one agree with the ban. I've seen 1st hand that the negative impact far outweighs the positive for the hobby.
Is there a negative impact anywhere other than Florida? No.. Florida has regulations already. This ban does nothing about the wild pythons, and it is simply banning transport. If anything, it will simply cause more snakes to be released. This is a nationwide ban for a local problem. Someone can't take their python from Minnesota to Ohio, because there are some loose in Florida. Furthermore, the ban is based on the "study" by the USGS that claimed the pythons could survive in the southern third of the US, which was a hugely criticized study by all manner of scientific organizations, which came to the conclusion that it was “not scientific”, and “not suitable as the basis for regulatory legislative policy decisions”.
