Is there a negative impact anywhere other than Florida? No.. Florida has regulations already. This ban does nothing about the wild pythons, and it is simply banning transport. If anything, it will simply cause more snakes to be released. This is a nationwide ban for a local problem. Someone can't take their python from Minnesota to Ohio, because there are some loose in Florida. Furthermore, the ban is based on the "study" by the USGS that claimed the pythons could survive in the southern third of the US, which was a hugely criticized study by all manner of scientific organizations, which came to the conclusion that it was “not scientific”, and “not suitable as the basis for regulatory legislative policy decisions”.I for one agree with the ban. I've seen 1st hand that the negative impact far outweighs the positive for the hobby.
