it needs to be more than a hit that doesn't hurt , isn't bleeding and is healing. No wonder medical insurance is so expensive if you are going to waste their time with something relatively trivial like this. I also trim my own fingernails when needed
A radio graph is not available in my home. If I needed to know if any microscopic shards were floating around just waiting to cause more damage, I would need a doctor to tell me that. Cutting your nails and sting ray stings, are obviously quite different. I am not saying you are wrong or anything. I am saying I would offer the opposite advice, and additionally, I think the OP is in fairy tale land.
