Oxygen level?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
No none of her tanks are near the size of mine. I do have some spare power heads too so maybe ill put one in each corner at the back. Could this be killing new, but only certain, fish?

I can't say for sure. But I do know there has to be water moving from the bottom to the top especially in tall tanks. That's where oxygen exchange takes place (at the top).

AH, well thank you. This clears up the confusion as to why it would be any different for my tank than hers. Do you think two airstones are enough?

To be honest (since I'm an over-worryer) if I had a tank that deep I'd probably have 3 or 4. Overkill, I'm sure but that's what I'd do. Because it's your main source of surface agitation. I've got an understocked 30" tall tank with just 2 Emperor 400's but it's got a 1200 gph powerhead at the bottom pushing water up. There's Loaches in there so they love it. I was worried about water movement in that tank, too.

Well like I said, I do have some powerheads as well so I could put two of those in instead of a bunch of airstones. I guess Ill play it by ear once I pull all my spare crap out and see what I have.
