P-Bass had eggs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks a lot guys...So far they're looking good.. the water is about 78-80 dgrees, thinking about turning it up a little. PH about 6.6-6.8. Every thing else is reading zero so far. I didn't want to move the eggs, so I put up an egg crate to separate the other fish. Hopefully they hatch... Should I still feed them during this period, they're very messy eaters. Afraid they might pollute the water... Thanks for all the comments and info...

Congratulations! Pbass eggs are naturally yellow, you don't need to worry unless they turn white. Expect your pbass to start digging pits in the gravel within the next day or so. The eggs will hatch after about 3 - 5 days and the fry become free swimming after a couple of days. If you want to raise them, your best bet is to remove the babies to a small tank and feed them lots of baby brine shrimp. I tried feed frozen baby brine shrimp to mine with no luck, so live is definitely the way to go. There are others on the board who have successfully raised babies, so I defer to them I that regards.

This is good info.

Follow that and you will have a good chance.

Congrats! :)
