Newest addition to my tanks. Saw it while buying food at LFS and had to have it. How big do these get and what exactly are these. Thanks for any info. Never had any.

. That bass you got is an Ocellaris

hey, just a thought... how noneya have called out the boneheads at the lfs for "doling out" such potential monsters to just anybody... huh, huh??

He looks good, Nice score on your part, I wish I could find them up here.

because they are a business, they are there to make money. Isn't that sort of obvious? :screwy:

first someone said that jeff isnt an expert, and then someone said he is. whether he is or no. jeff told me that a temensis will rarely get more then 18 inches in home aquaria, is this b.c people rarely provide them with the right conditions or that it just wont grow that big?

i think one peacock bass in an 8' x 2' x 2' tank would be alright, obviously it wouldnt be perfect, but with good filtration he would have a better life than most of the peacocks that get sold at the pet store end up with

man , just when i thought i landed a beauty, i think he came down with a fungus right on the mouth. i assume that is what is on his mouth. i can't seem to get a good pic. diesel said they are very suceptible to disease early on. he was right a few days after I got him and this developed. none of the tankmates seem to have anything wrong with them only the p-bass. looking to separate, but with the storm coming i am not going to bother with it. too much going on and depending on the outcome of the storm, maybe i won't have any fish afterward.

Whats the temp of your tank? I would keep it at about 85 degrees while you are treating.... Just might help with stress... Peacocks love warm water, especially when there young!!!

GOOD LUCK!!! HE'S A BEAUT!!!!
