p90x..... anyone used it? or something similar?

I am home during the day to watch my 2 year old son, and i work at night. a gym membership doesn't really fit for me right now, so i was just curious if anyone had any feedback they could give me about p90x or other fitness plans that can be done at home. i have thought about running too..... i am most active at night and plus its cooler at night. thoughts, ideas, tips appreciated. thanks!
 
never tried P90x. am thinking of ordering it though because i never really have time to hit the gym, and PT just doesnt cut it.

Crossfit works, we did crossfit and Semper Fit ( Marine Corps form of crossfit). they have a website you should check out. im not sure what it is exactly, proabably just crossfit.com. lol. if you get P90X its supposed to be a build up routine once you finish you'll be in shape but keeping in shap will be hard since you cant just start the video over. so you will most likely be looking into crossfit anyways.

btw, crossfit is a fullbody workout. it increases your run time like crazy, pullups and pushups are a breaze. just by doing the pushup routine, mine was about 150-180 pushups each time and never touched a bench press, just added 45lb weights to my back,(a weight vest might be better though, easier to balance and wont put too much strain in certain plaaces, but balancing the plate was half the workout) and after about 7 months my bench had increased 50lb and i was 100lbs over my weight. good stuff right? also we had a Sgt. in my MOS school that did crossfit religiously and got a 300 pft, running 3 miles in 17mins and change.

now that you mentioned it though. im going to order P90X. if you get it let me know, we can compare results.
 
thanks for the info man. my wife and i have friends that it worked well for, but they were eating the same old bland foods all the time. steamed broccoli dry and chicken with no skin or anything good :( i think any dvd or activity would make you feel more in shape eating that diet. realistically i cannot change my diet right now too drastically since my wife prepares the food and she is pregnant, so she doesn't want to shock her system with a new diet right now. its not practical right now for us to buy separate meals either. i will check out that crossfit you mentioned
 
just ordered P90X. i had to have it shipped to my house and from there it will be sent to me here in Japan.

dont worry about the eating habbits. i used to eat whatever i wanted and still do and was in great shape. just stay away from greasy foods all the time. aka fast food. when i got fast foot, usually carls Jr. i got the spicey chicken sandwiches... actually i lived on spicey chicken sandwiches. lol. $.99 each usually id get it once a day and id get 3 for lunch or 4 for dinner. and cottage cheese and fruit for breakfast. never had time to cook breakfast, so id put it in a ziploc container at night and eat it on the go. about 2 cups of cottage cheese and a can of fruit cocktail, mix and eat. drain the juice from the fruit cocktail though. lol. otherwise its nasty in the morning. for my other meal that wasnt chicken sandwiches (they really were that convenient lol) id just have a couple sandwiches or whatever was on the table when i got home that night. all my workouts where after dinner and id drink a shake after that and get about 6-8 hours of sleep.
 
basically what happened with me is i got married and moved out of state so my routine of regular fitness activities (i used to play ice hockey twice a week) dropped off. my appetite stayed the same though. i think if i just do some conditioning exercises and maybe some running until i can get to the gym regularly, it will just help me that much more once i do start lifting again.

That sucks, my buddy just got it burnt from someone he knew. cheaper that way :ROFL:
 
My old room mate, who was in really good shape and worked out daily, said that p90x was a way better workout then he expected it to be. I think he used that on his ab days and said it was really good and a nice change.
 
I use it its really good and hard I guess cause they have stuff I can't even a the moment but I got it on Wednesday and already lost 6 pounds
 
i got the ten minute workout from the same guy that dos p90x tomorrow ill open the box and see if it works i havent tried it yet i think its similar but probably more cardio
