As far as your filtration, it sounds like you are running just mechanical, no biological. Do you flow through a lot of water? Since you are in a tropical area and probably don't have chlorinated water (?) you could just maintain a constant flow of fresh water, maybe 1/4 to 1/2 gallon per minute. If you do this, you could support a fairly heavy stocking level. Of course, if water is scarce or expensive this method won't work... In that case, you should look into adding some bio-filtration.
 
So sorry for your loss!!! I have a 25" Pacu that gets along very well with my 6"sevrum, 4: firemouth and 8" Jack Demsey.....Good luck
 
water in my area is chlorinated so that method wont quite work and i think i have biological filtration nevr vhanged media
 
how to add biological filtration??

2 albino O 8-10 inch
3 tiger O 7 inch & 14 inch & 13 inch
3 cascadura 6 inch (fully grown)
4 schooling fish maybe barb pale orange colour 6 inch will pst pics tomz
added this evening 2 cichlids will post pics tomz if dere alive 2-3 inch was dark when i got home couldnt see
