My Pacu loves grapes. Any other good veggies I can feed him? He also eats Omega One cichlid pellets and dried krill.

Grapes are OK now and then but not too regularly since the sugars can cause bacterial blooms in your tank. Pacus are ominivores that eat fruits, nuts, and plants in the wild. Some good choices for a regular diet inclusion are frozen peas, lima beans, corn, greenbeans, potato slices, diced apples/pears, etc. Infrequent offerings can include grapes, chunks of banana, pineapple, oranges, melons, etc.

Thanks for that. I have been feeding one grape per day, maybe I should cut back.

I would be careful with citrus fruits. Citrus fruits have citric acid in them and if your GH is low, the citric acid can cause swings in your pH. If your GH is good, then do it because Vitamin C!

I've fed mine grapes too, i've also fed em lettuce, blueberries, and watermelon........but only rarely .............they usually only eat algae wafers, bloodworms, and krill................

Mine eats all pellets. blood worms, brine shrimp, grapes, raisons, spinach. lettuce, nuts (loves them!), strawberries, blueberries, peas, carrots, cucumber..............

My GH is off the charts. What I really need to worry about is KH, which is 0!!!!!!!!!!!!! I hacve started using buffer at every water change.

They also like unsalted hazelnuts.
