Just make sure to change the water a lot, Atleast 1x per week 50% fresh water change, add dechlorinater and make sure tank water and sink water are the same! And for god sake don't over feed him, a few times per week is plenty at that size! That will help while you find him a new home!

I have a payara, RTC, Pike cichlid, 3 Plecos, and green sevrum with my 6" pacu. They all get along fine
