My last Pacu nearly destroyed a Red Terror i used to own,and now my new Pacu is nipping the hell out of my Black cat even though the cat fish is twice its size.Is there a way to stop this or should i just get rid of the Pacu??Has anyone else gone through this???:WHOA:

Sure.... they do that lol

yes get rid of the worst fish known to man...

Pacu aren't mean or overly aggressive, but 1) They get big, and can do serious damage. 2) They have teeth and can do serious damage. 3) They are very assertive and don't back down, and can do serious damage.

Get the picture? :) Basically they are like a pit bull with a much better personality and cuter face. I love them!

I don't know what to say..as to why your pacu are this way.. here are my pacu with an african cichlid and they are just completly gentle giants.. i have never once had a problem with them nipping other fish..just swallowing pieces of the tubing from the filter lol... maybe you need to give it more chewy things..i give mine slices of carrots par blanched in microwave.. and create some hiding places for the cat and you should have the problem licked..

It's just that they often become the dominant fish, without showing it. Once in a while they'll start chasing the others around or worse, it's just when another fish starts to resist, that it learns who really is boss.

wow Red Devil that pacu tank is so overstocked. How many gallons is it anyway?
You do know that they need 300 gallons or more

I've never owned a pacu that nipped or was in any way a dominant fish. They normally are the focus of aggression rather than the aggressors. My largest pacu gets chased by a talapia that is 1/5 its mass. What size tank are you housing them in?
