Pacu Vs. Heater

Well...my pacu is getting quite large and he has a bad habit of spooking. Two days ago while cleaning his tank he freaked out and ran around the tank...in the process he slammed into his heater and broke it ever so viciously in half. I figured it would happen sometime or another, what would be the strongest heater I can get this monster that he cant break??

Get any kind and put it in a tube of PVC pipe with numerous holes drilled in it.

just put some rubber o rings around the heater on the bottom.some even have sleeves for the bottom to prevent the snap when the fish decides to hit the heater like a line backer on a quarterback

The safest heater for a pacu is the one in the sump. Even if you buy the best, strongest heater, he will eventually chew through the cord. Sumps are a must for pacus because it is very important that there is NO equipment in the main tank.
